It certainly is, especially since me and Mr X both pre-ordered our games. The spell checker says pre-order isn't a real word... is that true? Anyway, it was my first time pre-ordering. And I too worry about secure payments. Perhaps it is time for a dongle type of thing. It becomes so that it's natural, you go to the bank counter and they say: "Here's your new card, Sir... and don't forget your dongle!"

Hello Mr X, I finished DS2 in 113 exhilarating / exasperating hours. After that door closed, I felt no need for further torture... but I'll be back for more in DS3!

Can't rightly say why I didn't post. Didn't feel right, I suppose. At the time. I wanted to post yesterday to say I'm not having any more synchronicities. Then I had a synchronicity. Such as it is, it is.

yes that was my first pre order too. in newgame+ i spent an lot of time as an sun-praiser, helping feeble cursed ones get past bosses like the lost sinner and the looking glass knight. funnily in the last two days i went back for more with the sunken king dlc.
well done beating it. compared to ds1 which was an 11/10 i thought it was about 8.5-9/10. but i cant tell if that is due to nostaglia coloured glasses or not.

an dongle would be nice, ive not had problems but i know people who get their card stolen an few times and year.

i too have not had syncs since after the start of the thread. i wondered if it was due to being hyper aware of syncs and therefore discarding lesser syncs due to analyzing the events more. but still, nothing significant to report. i wonder what is up with that.

what was the synchronicity you had ? and btw, there is already 3 new epsidoes of utopia season 2 (about to watch).

mr j, what if resetting the password blocked out the original person from their own account. i would probably look for some customer service from sony or ea. live chat service if you can find it. they would have the customers credit details and have more luck finding the person to fix the mistaken email.
i wonder what the full email address is and how many variations there can be. can you change one letter and still have the address make sense ?
what if someone you know saw this thread and sent you that game on purpose ?
why would someone preorder  battlefield hardline ?

Tuesday, my colleague who is also my special lady friend brought to work some pumpkin pie. It was delicious. It set off the memory of a children's show called Pumpkin Patch. The theme went:

It was stuck on repeat in my head and I told her so. She laughed and said "sorry". After we ate she had somewhere to be and I had 30 minutes to kill. I wanted to read something interesting on the internet and I looked up Ernest Hemingway on Wikipedia. Someone gave The old man and the sea to my mom and I read it there two weeks back. I was a bit surprised that I really loved it.  The Wikipedia page said:

I've been worrying about the exact same thing and have no way of contacting the fellow, and the customer care contact forms at sony and ea do not work.

i went down that wiki rabbit hole, but first had to wiki syntax, subordination and then sentance.

i noticed the pumpkin pie part of the simple sentenaces, and i noticed the and and but part. i read that link thrice, and can say it was only those two thing that i noticed that i took away from it. it is funny, and genuinely annoying, but the pumpkin pie but and - was the only things that my dysfunctional brian could take away, and only due to context it was posted in. i am not the best at reading learning.

hemmingway certainly sounds interesting. i have not fully read that whole page but have enjoyed it so far.

so we currently have the pumpking pie sync, which has an chance of, but not necessarily, being an frequency illusion, and the password security sync. not bad syncs for the current burst of activity.

mr j i dont think your efforts with your google message is enough. i dont know about sony but if you cant access ea support then you didnt try enough. do you speak italian. the internet is an big annoying place, there would possibly be someone complaining about their pre order going missing somewhere. if you cant be bothered finding some random stranger and solving their problem, i wouldnt blame you.

as an side note, after following the euromajdan protests and watching it on live streams constantly for months, and being an person who hopes the best for palestinians, the past few weeks have been pretty depressing. humans are messed up.

Yeah, sorry about that. It was just the pumpkin pie bit and that now seems quite silly. I should have just stated what happened, not make you read through a bunch of links. I'm actually quite tired of the whole sync business. I'm going to write it all off as coincidence of the ordinary kind. For the time being.

i am very honestly tempted to just not look. it seems like the best idea. it is not possible to be concerned or disgusted by things if i dont know they exist. it may sound shallow but there is no benefiet to being concerned with things one has no control over. that makes sense to me but sort of seems morally wrong.

i am not an nerd, or anything else, just an person. i like how nerds have specific and well examined interests, i wish i liked anything that much.

Re: Nerds. I don't mean nerd in the good sense, I'm way too uncool for that. Nerdness too has been hijacked by entitled MFs. They carved out a niche there too. No really - you must be a fan of a certain type of comic or movie or game. You must attend certain happenings. Prescribed T-shirts, collector's items, posable figurines. Obscure multi genre "mash up" T-shirts strictly for "those in the know". Cool tattoos. Piercings. Chicks that act "nerdy" but are perpetually out of your league. "Ubergeeks". Big Bang Theory types - caricatures in stead of people. I denounce you all!

(Probably because I secretly think that eventually my anti-geek sentiments will become the new cool, entitling me to "What I've Got Coming To Me".)

I think overmen by definition won't be dicks. It serves no purpose. I've been thinking about what overmen will be like. Next post, I think.

While the military is ploughing billions into cyber-warrior training, it's only to be expected that people working outside the military have more infosec experience than those in the armed forces, and be more aware of the very latest defense and offense techniques.

nerds that are too uncool are not not cool. cool is extremely subjective. i personally dont see nerds that way. if some one is social awkward that is not classically cool, if that same person can build an robot, that is very cool. and really, who cares about coolness. the fonz was meant to be cool, but these days if he walked in the room and said "ehhy" he would be an douche.

i think if you examined everything, you would find entitled mfers in everyway. if your hobby was skidoos, there would be people telling you you are doing it wrong. and they wouldnt even be true skidoo fans. just entitled mfers.

i do think your antigeek sentiments will become the new cool, it is almost certain. but i dont agree with the getting what is coming to you part. for sure, we will all get death at some point, but anything else is not granted.

as a minor psync, here is an story, from outside f4.

in the past few days i got back into pc gaming, after having no interest since april of this year.

i loaded steam and started playing some puzzle games. dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin edition was on sale, i bought it.
i looked at my friends list and yesterday i thought, mr [redacted] should buy a xbox one controller and play dark souls with me. we have only spoken a few times in 2015.
today, i chatted with mr [redacted] and discovered the day before mr [redacted] bought and xbox one controller, with the intent to play some dark souls. there was more to that sync, but just saying it weird how spot on some things can be.

that is a simple story. there were far more layers to it than what is being reported. the whole thing of syncs happening more frequently when involved with f4 is a real thing. i wonder how they effect things in our lives other than forum4 specific topics.

Another game related coincidence... I was thinking of posting in moonlight thread, trying to think of units of psi. It seems to me that the one constant in psi is that it involves a psyche - a mind. But I think it involves types of mind (or consciousness or awareness take your pick) that is slightly elevated above the day to day mind. So I was thinking of levels of consciousness and looking for examples and for some reason thought of Dragon Ball Z... I seem to recall there was lots of leveling up involved, and they controlled some kind of Chi or something. A minute later I opened Steam and guess what, full screen ad for 50% off Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

About Witcher 3, I decided not to try it, seems like too much of a time investment. I played Dragon Age 3 and really wanted to enjoy it, but there is just too much going on. I didn't even finish the campaign. The mountains of work I was talking about was marking. It took me about 60 hours, I bet I wouldn't even have made a dent in the Witcher 3... probably would have spent that much time picking herbs. I'm getting too old for that kind of thing. I also realized that I'm getting too old for comic book movies. It took me four sessions to watch Avengers 2, constantly thinking "What is this about?"

At the moment I'm just doing the occasional lap in Project Cars, but I might be persuaded to get Just Cause 3 at the end of the year.
